Instead of having several threads for a trip to Preist Lake and another one for Pend Oreille I decided it would be better to have a single thread to focus us all on one objective of a joint activity. Should our next activity be at Preist or Pend Oreille Lake, or some smaller lake out on the Scab Lands such as Rock Lake? So lets chose a place to sail and date for our next activity. I for one want to either sail next on Rock Lake in the Scab lands or Preist Lake. To find more info on any of these lakes go to www.boatingtheinlandnw.com and click on Local Lakes Guide. Please post here where you would like to sail. Thank you...

Ok after talking with a few sailors in our club I think going to Rock Lake would be an awesome new experience for us. First Rock Lake is a lot closer to the biggest portion of our club members in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene. And 99 percent of our members have not even heard about Rock Lake, so would be a new experience for many. It really is a fabulous sailing lake. So my vote is we go to Rock Lake. Again to learn more about Rock Lake go to www.boatingtheinlandnw.com and click on Local Lakes Guide near the bottom of the home page and then go to the Easter WA. section and click on Scab Land Lakes. I know a lot about this lake because when I attended the U of I, I taught sailing on this lakes for 2 years. If most of our club members are in agreement to go to Rock Lake then we need to choose a date in July. Remember Keel-boaters the boat launch is not paved but is do-able to get Keelboats in the lake, once in the lake the depth is 408 ft. Miles

Miles, The only weekend I'm around in July is ther 11th and 12th. Was Rock Lake the one with submerged rocks unsuitable for hi speed daggerbd boats? Not sure I want to trailer a boat somewhere, but I'll consider it. My preference would be for Priest, but I'm open.

I think I need to soften the issue with Lava Spires in Rock Lake. I sailed for 2 years in this lakes, teaching, etc. I think I hit one once with my rudder near shore in that 2 year time period. The water is high now so the spires are not going to be an issue. I need to also go to my website at www.boatingtheinlandnw.com and soften the issue there as well. Sorry I over stated the issue...

Ok for July I am heading to Elk Creek Reservoir. This is a non-motorized lake near the city of Elk River, which is 52 miles east of Moscow Idaho, and about 30 Miles west of Dworshak Reservoir. We will be camping right next to the Reservoir. We plan to also pick huckleberries as its the best time of year to pick them in this area. All are welcome to sail and camp (reservations is recommended) with us in this very remote location. For info on this lake and area go to www.elkriverlodge.net and click on visitor info and slide down to the camping section and you will find the correct info under the heading of "Elk River Recreation District Campgrounds." Hope to see some of you there. Miles...

Just wanted to remind people that Dworshak Res. is just a short distance from where I am camping. Dworshak is an amazing place to sail and explore. So anyone come down to my way to camp, sail, etc.?
