Aloha,
I am new to the Inland Northwest sailing thing and was wondering if anyone could give me some info on public boat launch locations at Priest Lake. I launched my H16 last weekend from Coolin and that was good, but I am looking to expand my horizons. Much Mahalos,

Go to www.boatingtheinlandnw.com and click on Local Lakes Guide (at bottom of home page). There is a section there about Priest Lake. Let me know if you need more help... Miles Moore SAIL Marine www.sailcda.com

Miles,
Thanks a bunch. We are going to head to Priest Lake this Saturday and use the Indian Creek Boat launch. I will keep checking the forum here and hopefully my family and I can meet up with you and some of the other local sailing community in the near future. Have a great weekend.

Indian Creek is in a large bay located halfway up the east shore of the lake and is good location to launch. The beach is right next to the launch. If you have beach wheels you don't even need to use the launch (i.e., you can roll right down to the beach). The wind usually comes up in the afternoon and is onshore. This is also where the lake is widest and the best wind tends to be in mid channel. Directly across the lake is Kalispell Island, a good rest stop with several sandy beach landings/campsites (and toilets). Happy sailing.

Thanks for the great info on Indian Creek. Anytime I can have information like that to pass along to the wife and kids makes my life much better. Have an awesome weekend.
