I am finally getting up to Priest Lake this Fri-Sat. I will be doing some business on Fri.-Sat. but will be taking my Hobie AI up the channel to Upper Priest Lake at Lion Head State Park so anyone is welcome to join me. Those that want to join me might want to show up around 8:AM as I hope to get on the water by then but by the latest 10:AM. I have been wanting to do this trip for a long time and so its cool that I am finally doing it. I will not be staying at Lion Head State Park as I will be staying with some friends in Coolin.

Hello every one! What an awesome place Priest Lake is! I took off from Lion Head beach and sailed and peddled my Hobie AI up the thoroughfare to Upper Priest Lake with my 10 yo son sitting on the back. I was just amazed at the beauty of the area. It was great fun to sail on Upper Priest Lake, winds were about 10 knots. On our way back I passed a Power Boat (power boats are not allowed to make wakes in the thoroughfare) and two tandem kayaks paddling their butts off to keep from being passed by me, to no avail. For us Hobie and small boat sailors the Lion Head State Park beach is the ultimate place to camp and park our boats on. The day I was there, there was even breaking surf at the beach due to 15 knot winds driving the wave directly at the beach. I am calling Lion Beach, Lion Hobie Beach. The sand is near white color and there is no mud in sight. It was an awesome trip and I hope next season to do a club trip there. The next trip to Priest Lake I want to visit some of the Islands. On a side note by the end of Nov. I will have an updated section on the www.boatingtheinlandnw.com with all boat launches pictured and a ton of new info.
